Biography

Walter Sobkiw is one of the founding members of the Drexel University Systems Engineering Program where he developed and teaches systems engineering courses. Walt is author of five systems engineering books. Current interests are applying systems engineering to help mitigate the COVID-19 disaster, government privatization, and sustainability.
In addition to his faculty role he has over 43+ years’ experience in industry, government, and non-profits for very large complex mission critical systems. Applications include air traffic control, air defense, and secure communications systems. Walt is an electrical engineer who became involved in systems engineering very early in his career.
