Dr. Akeem Bolaji WAHAB is a Reader (an Associate Professor) of Building in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria with specialties in innovative and sustainable performance and delivery of building projects. He served as the Acting Head, Department of Building Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, (2017- 2020) with track records of leading the Department to obtain full accreditation status of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) amidst other feats recorded. He has held few posts in The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), Oyo State Chapter such as the Chairman, (2020 - Date), Vice Chairman, (2016 - 2020), Secretary (2010-2016) amidst other responsibilities. In the Oyo State Branch of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), he has served as the Assistant General Secretary (2010-2012), General Secretary (2012-2014) and Treasurer (2014-2016). He is a Corporate Member of The Nigerian Institute of Building and is registered with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development and holds membership of few professional bodies in the built environment industry both locally and internationally, such as the International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan amongst others. He has represented the Nigerian Institute of Building on the committee set up the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing on the Standards and Regulations for Gas Piping in the review of the country’s National Building Code. He has also served as the Secretary, Oyo State Building Regulations Review Committee. He has served as an invited resource person in many programmes, at different times, such as “Doing Business in Nigeria” facilitated by the World Bank amongst others; keynote speaker on “Construction, Demolition and Disaster Waste” Organised by the Lagos State Waste Management Authority amongst others. He has served on the panel of the reviewers of the curricula of professional examinations of the NIOB, as an external examiner to few higher institutions of learning in the country; and as a reviewer to journals within and outside the country.
